STEM Storytime: Icicle Investigators

Topic: Winter, icicle formation

Hands-on Activity: Aluminum foil icicles

Students will use everyday household items to make their own icicles. To do so, they will cut and glue a string to a piece of crushed aluminum foil and decorate it!

Required Materials:
  • Aluminum foil
  • Approx. 15-cm String
  • Scissors
  • Glue
  • Decorating materials (paint, sparkles, etc.)

This activity is targeted at students in early years to Grade 3. Older students may still enjoy the activity and book, but may require additional challenges to remain engaged.
