Seeing Science

Updated Sep 11, 2025 - Added Apr 4, 2023

In this recording from a live student session, Jonny and Matt from Brothers Make shared how their work grew from garage-based upcycling projects into an international sustainability business focused on recycled plastics. They introduced students to creative ways plastics can be reused, offered practical advice for safe school-based projects, and encouraged ASD-N classes to explore upcycling as a hands-on way to connect creativity, sustainability, design, and real-world problem solving.

Over the course of 6-7 weeks, you will observe, investigate, record, appreciate, and share the wonders & phenomena around you through a scientific and artistic lens.

You will have the opportunity to take part in scientific investigations and record your observations through photography and videography using iPads and personal devices.

You will work with other students, your teacher, and district leads to capture events in your investigations and natural phenomena in your environment.

This is a pilot project that will be reflected on, modified, developed, and shared with all ASD-N Teachers for future projects.
